Our Story
So who is behind the Legal Service Providers Association, why was it started, and what do we hope to accomplish?
The two founding directors, Jerry Correia and Greg Bayless, have a total of 38 years experience in the legal services industry. 23 of those years have been spent working alongside many of you, leading and managing companies providing services to law firms and corporate legal departments. Our unique experience is that we've dedicated the last 15 years to running companies focused on helping vendors in the legal services industry improve and grow. This has included providing training, consulting, staffing and national referral services.
During this time, we have become increasingly convinced of 2 things:
- Our industry has always been and will continue to be dominated by hundreds of private companies rather than a few large corporations. We believe this is driven by the fact that these companies are the best suited for and the most dedicated to providing the service excellence our clients have come to expect and demand.
- While the smaller size of the average company in the legal services industry can be a huge benefit, it can also be a significant liability. Few companies in our space have the time it requires or the size necessary to develop and negotiate the kinds of programs and discounts available to Fortune 500 corporations.
Our belief in the hundreds of companies in the litigation support field, our desire to identify ways to help legal service providers succeed and improve, and our realization that collaboration as a larger industry group / association can provide significant benefits if done properly, has compelled us to launch the LSPA.
It is important to note that this idea is not ours alone. We have had many conversations over the years with owners and leaders of legal service companies, many of whom have encouraged us to consider starting an association for the industry. Most of the best offerings we have right now have come from conversations with our Advisory Team and LSPA members.
While we are very excited about our initial offering, we are convinced that we can do much more. The real power of the LSPA will be the growth and development that comes from the ideas of our members. As an LSPA member, you will have access to several avenues to both learn and provide the valuable input we will need in order to grow and improve. We want you to know that we are open to (and need) your comments, feedback, and suggestions on what we can do to improve our industry, one LSPA member at a time. We consider the promotion of our industry to be a privilege and a responsibility.
Thanks for taking the time to learn more about the LSPA. We hope you will join us in this joint effort to improve your profits, sales, excellence and knowledge in the coming years.
Sincerely,
Jerry Correia and Greg Bayless
